Tommy Mayne Program: Youth on Stage

Donate – Help put a young artist on stage

Not so long ago, graduating theatre artists were required to move away from Victoria to gain professional experience. Blue Bridge Theatre has changed that reality with the Tommy Mayne Apprenticeship Program. We have created a professional employment experience for young actors, directors, and designers right here in Victoria. Now, our most promising young artists work alongside, and are mentored by, seasoned professional in the production of classic plays. Together, our inter-generational company is bringing Victoria audiences world class theatre. And the critical acclaim following our first three seasons suggests we are on the right track. Since the program’s inception in 2009, Blue Bridge has supported 100 emerging artists, by providing them with apprenticeship opportunities that are the catalyst to jump-start their careers, but we cannot do it alone – we need your support.

Alex Plouffe & Meg Tilley

“Blue Bridge has created unsurpassed opportunities for young and emerging artists in Canada to further their understanding and knowledge of theatre. It is, truly, the most rewarding theatrical experience I have had to date.“
